Camila Catalina Wins at Keeneland

Camila Catalina, a two-year-old daughter of Rock Your World bred by Nicky Drion in partnership with Alastair Roden, got off the mark in maiden special weight company at Keeneland on Oct. 10.

Traveling slightly better than midpack down the backstretch of the 6 1/2 furlong dirt contest, Camila Catalina swept up to join the leaders four wide coming off the turn and charged to the front, drawing off to win by 4 1/2 lengths for trainer Bob Hess and jockey Julien Leparoux. Camila Catalina is raced by a partnership that includes White Fence LLC, Larry Buckendorf, Johnny D’Acquisto , Tyler Harringer and Peter Underhill. She was making her third start, having run twice at Del Mar in the summer finishing second and third.
