Three-year-old filly Flash Wear made it back-to-back victories on July 20 when taking a one-mile allowance race at Ellis Park. Switching off the rail at the quarter pole, Flash Wear ran down the pacesetting L.A. Woman to win by a handy half-length. Flash Wear, now a three-time winner from 11 starts, was coming off a starter allowance win going 7 1/2 furlongs at Churchill Downs on June 21 for owners Michael and Linda Mazoch and trainer Thomas Vance.
Bred by Nicky Drion in partnership with Sebastien Murat, Flash Wear–a daughter of Instilled Regard–was a $37,000 sale through the Nicky Drion Thoroughbreds consignment at Keeneland September in 2023. She is a half-sister to Flashiest, who was bred by Nicky Drion and Indian Creek and was a listed winner and multiple graded stakes placed.
